Tangerine Tango

We are unfailingly inspired by Pantone's color of the year and the color of 2012 did not disappoint. Tangerine Tango is a much needed hue to help us revitalize and recharge.  We have been looking to orange over the past two years, shifting from a lighter, brighter yellow orange to a sophisticated red-orange. Our Atomic Orange revealed itself in late 2010 and gained momentum as an incredibly versatile hue. It was seen on the runways and in make‐up trends. Designers such as Prada decided that orange lips were (and still are) hot. The energy and attractiveness of this hue expressed warmth as it was needed. We paired this hue with black or deep backgrounds giving it a vibrant, surprisingly elegant restraint. Atomic Orange promised passion tempered by reason. We called the deeper, redder version of late, Core.  Core, similar to Tangerine Tango, was inspired by the dynamic power of the sun. The vibrancy of Core is intense and intoxicating. We will dance forward with Tangerine Tango's energy and promise for 2012. And, we hope Syracuse Orange will be making it to the "Big Dance" this year, since 2012 is the year of the Orange (and 'Cuse is Stacy's alma mater)!

Tips for Tangerine Tango:

1. We are loving complimentary and unexpected combinations. Pair Tangerine Tango with Blue-Greens.

2. Add Tangerine Tango into an existing scheme as an exuberant accent.

3. To create a high-impact room add Tangerine as an accent wall or on the ceiling.

For more information on Tangerine Tango, read this New York Times interview with Panton's Leatrice Eiseman here.  We also, loved Accidental Chic's take on the color.

Americana

With President’s Day coming up in this election year, we look to our nation’s favorite combination, Americana. We are seeing a craze for Red, White and Blue and we like it. Whether used with nostalgic, classic or Presidential motifs this combo is the “it” right now.
